How can I get to the island?

To get to the Isla Múcura Hotel, you can do it in two ways, but it all depends on the city you are leaving from.

By air to:
– Monteria, Daily commercial flights depart daily on VIVAAIR, AVIANCA and LAN airlines.
– Cartagena: Daily flights on all airlines.

By land:
You can take public transportation in the main intermunicipal transportation companies, to the Municipality of Tolú – Coveñas. The companies are: RAPIDO OCHOA S.A AND EXPRESO BRASILIA.
After being in Tolú, you can go to the Malecón from where boats leave daily, with a 1 hour trip to the island.

By sea:

It is the easiest and simplest way to get to Hotel Isla Múcura, where boats leave daily from the Malecón de Tolú at 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., in a journey of approximately 45 minutes. The return from Isla Múcura to Tolú is between 2:00pm and 3:00pm.

Every day a boat leaves for the island.
GENTE MÚCURA: The boat leaves from the bodeguita dock (gate 5) at 9:00 am (it is important to arrive at 8:15 am). The tour has an average duration of 2 hours and the price per person is $100.000 COP (+$17.000 COP of entrance tax to the national park – this is paid only once per person).
The boat departs from the Casa en el Agua hostel in the San Bernardo archipelago at 12:00 noon (arriving in Cartagena at 2:00 pm approx.).
It is necessary to arrive at the hotel at 11:30 am to keep the reservation.
We offer a return transfer from Isla Múcura to Casa en el Agua for the return trips to Cartagena, for these it is necessary to be at the public dock of Isla Múcura at 11:15 am. (the boat waits 10 minutes).
As with any other maritime transportation service, we have restrictions on weight and space for luggage, which is limited to a single hand luggage weighing less than 8k (people with suitcases that exceed these characteristics unfortunately will not be able to board the boat). For this situation we offer storage service in our office in Getsemani (previous request with the STAFF of GENTE MÚCURA, value per suitcase $10.000 COP).
A previous reservation must be made with the company GENTE MÚCURA at +57 316 620 86 60.

Do you provide a snack service at the hotel?

Yes, it consists of 2 cocktails of the house, full lunch (starter, main course and dessert) with the possibility of choosing between 3 options: traditional Caribbean dish, vegetarian and chicken or pork, and obviously on the best beach of all Isla Múcura with access to our facilities and common areas, you can play volleyball, soccer, aerobics and much more.

Can I arrive at the hotel without making a reservation?

Yes, but running the risk of not entering the desired accommodation or having to leave the island, for not finding availability, we recommend you always book in advance.

What are the check in and check out times?

Check In: 1:00 p.m.
Check Out: from 9:30 to 10:30 am.

If you arrive before check in, you have the option to store your luggage at the reception, to enjoy our paradise while your accommodation is being delivered to you.

Why can I only have two showers a day?

The fresh water resource on the island is a very precious asset, the collection, treatment and storage of rainwater is limited. for this reason the showers are open from 6:00 until 9:00 am and again from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm and do not forget that caring for the planet is for everyone 😊.

Can I bring my pet to the hotel?

We are 100% Pet Friendly, the furry ones are welcome, as long as your reservation is in a private accommodation and if it is a breed categorized as dangerous do not forget to bring the muzzle and to pick up their feces.

Can minors attend?

We love children, they really enjoy the beach and the sea. Keep in mind that the hotel is designed for the enjoyment and relaxation of couples and / or families, so we recommend that minors stay in the following accommodations: Cabins, Wild Experience, Kiosko Suite or Kiosko Amigos.

(Hotel Isla Mucura rejects exploitation, pornography, sexual tourism and other forms of sexual tourism with minors and contributes to the compliance of law 679 of 2001 and law 300 of tourism).

How are the payment methods?

We have three methods of payment:
1. Cash payment at the hotel.
2. Transfer or consignment to a Bancolombia savings account.
3. Consignment by Paypal in dollars.

In case of cancellation or modification of the reservation?

First remember to read our cancellation policies and then request it in writing to [email protected] as soon as possible.

Does the hotel have WI-FI for guests?

Of course it does, don’t forget to post your photos, videos and follow us on social networks.

Which are the operators with the best signal in the hotel?

There are only three antennas nearby, those of Movistar, Tigo-Une and Avantel.

Is the food a la carte or buffet style?

It is the chef’s option. We have variety in our dishes, taking national and Colombian Caribbean recipes, where we present them in three times: A delicious starter, a good main course and a delicious dessert).

What does the food pack include?

This includes the complete food service: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner; with its respective drink (It does not include alcoholic beverages).

If I am allergic to seafood or I don’t like it?

Don’t worry, you can ask the staff in charge in advance for another option, either chicken or meat, to complete your plate.

Are there options for vegans or vegetarians?

Yes, when you check in, please indicate your dietary preference, so that we can offer you other alternatives, according to your needs.

What are the meal times?

The restaurant hours are:
– Breakfast: 7:30 am to 9:00 am
– Lunch: 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm
– Dinner: 7:00 pm till 9:00 pm

Can I bring liquor to the hotel?

Yes, but there is a corkage fee:
Bottle of traditional liquor $30,000 COP.
Bottle of premium liquor, depending on the brand

Does the hotel have a swimming pool?

We do not have swimming pools, but we have a beautiful beach of white sand and crystal clear water, where you can see the horizon, why else?

How do I know that my reservation was successful?

A confirmation email will be sent to the person who requested the reservation.

What kind of restrictions are there in the hotel?

– The hotel does not allow the entrance of people intoxicated or under the influence of hallucinogenic substances.
– The entrance of weapons is prohibited.
– All guests must bring identification, ID or passport. – PEOPLE WITH PASSWORDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
– Outdoor activities are the responsibility of the guest.
– Remember that the water resource is complex on the island, keep in mind that there are only two showers a day.
